Sam Blades, Director
Sam has worked as a sport technologist with the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific since 2008. During his sport career, Sam has worked with over 10 different national sport programs and attended numerous international competitions as a sport technologist, including the Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympics. Sam is currently completing his PhD in biomechanics at the University of Victoria and is supported by an OTP Mitacs Accelerate Grant. His specific area of research interest is in the applied use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) in high-performance sport.
Ryan Brodie, Software
Ryan is a sport technologist and biomechanist at Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, where he has worked with several national sport programs since 2012. His educational background includes a MSc in Kinesiology (2009), a BSc in Computer Science – Software Engineering (2002), and a BSc in Kinesiology (2001), all from the University of Victoria.
Mark de Jonge, Engineering
Mark lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he balances elite sport, business, and engineering. He is an Olympic bronze medallist and two-time World Champion in the K1 200 m sprint kayak. In addition to his work with Technik, he is the founder of de Jonge Watch. He graduated from Dalhousie University in 2009 with a degree in civil engineering.
Celine Stubel, Business Development Manager
Celine is an actress who has played numerous leading roles across Canada, including productions with Belfry Theatre, the National Arts Centre, and Canadian Stage. To date her film and TV credits include: Motive, Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Arrow, and Eadward. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria in 2002.
